What do I need to start?
With our Server Package you are ready to start streaming and share your radio station with listeners. You just need your web browser to upload tracks to the server and manage your playlists online or any broadcasting software to connect live.

Can I use both Auto-DJ and connect live at the same time?
Yes that is possible, with Castlanka you'll be able to create streaming accounts that you can use to connect with while Auto-DJ is running. When you connect, Auto-DJ will automatically shut-down and replace it with your live streaming source. Once you disconnect, Auto-DJ will automatically start again.

What is the difference between Live Streaming and AutoDJ?
For Live Streaming, connect a broadcasting software compatible with SHOUTcast or Icecast Server and broadcast from your computer using your playlists, microphone or a mixer. For AutoDJ you can upload your library, pre-recorded broadcasts and shows to the server through the Control Panel or an FTP agent and create a Schedule to keep streaming 24/7 - also when you are offline. You can also combine both methods - set up AutoDJ and connect Live any time.

What does "bitrate" mean ?
The bitrate is the amount of data per second that is being used to broadcast your audio. A higher bitrate means more data is being used to transport the audio and the sound quality will be better. A lower bitrate uses less data to transport the audio but the audio quality decreases. Lower bitrate streams are good if you have listeners who have slower internet connections, or are on metered connections such as mobile phones.

We have an embeddable web player which is included with every package. You can get the code in our control panel. There are also many other web players available online (including many which are included with WordPress templates) which are compatible with our streams.
